First report from the Hermitage: Leaving the U.S.

Leaving the U.S. was a seminal moment, with no way of knowing what to expect. After looking for work for many, many, months, I got a job offer to work in Asia; for an American toy company. Twelve days later I landed at the destination; Don Muang Airport, Bangkok. That was Tuesday afternoon, May 27th, 2003. Hardly time to prepare for much of anything, because all but three days of the twelve were taken up by 8 hours per day of interviews. I'm mulling over what direction this blog will take.
